Halloween, Yo!
Hello to yee one and alls.
Thought I'd say a big ol' trick 'er' treat and pop up a couple of pics for everyone to gawp slack-jawed at before I treat myself to my traditional indulgence in a few horror films.
Firstly, an old image from 2009 featuring Doctor Loomis from John Carpenter's Halloween. I always liked Donald Pleasence in movies but sometimes found it hard not to think of him stroking a white cat and cackling at Sean Connery's James Bond. That never happened with Loomis.
This second image is a photie of our pumpkin / Jack O'Lantern / soon to be soup that is currently downstairs in the kitchen window welcoming our first trick or treaters to our house.
I used to love Halloween as a kid. It was my favourate day of the year because I used to love monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein's monster and the Wolf Man. None of this zombie crap. Good old gothic monsters in foggy grave yards.
Ahhhh. Those were the days.

Flying Monkey... Ape.

Hya.
He's a drawing I did of one of the Wicked Witch of the West's little airbourne apes in my own design of party gear. Maybe he also needs some Ferris Buller shades and a little t-shirt too?
I could draw apes all the time. I may do.
Did this for Chris Askham's art blog.

How To Save A Dragon cover

Here is my cover design for my book How To Save A Dragon, by Annie Dalton, due out this September. The cover has been substantially altered for print for some reason and I'm not too pleased with the outcome. I was really pleased with the balance on this one and thought it really worked on several levels.
Oh well, that's publishing for you. You can buy the book in all the usual places on release.

How To Save A Dragon: DONE!
Hi All.I finally finished work on How To Save A Dragon by Annie Dalton [pub. Random House] the week before last.
I was first sent the manuscript in March 2010. Several changes happened throughout the year and I only managed to start drawing proper in Feb of this year. I've had a load of other commitments to see to so that's why it's taken so long. Well, that and the fact that in February the amount of images in the book jumped from 12 to 74.
Needless to say my 6 month work schedule got a little more complicated.
I'm going to post some of the images from the book, all black ink line on white, over my websites between now and the release date in September. The sites, including this one, are listed below.
