Today's the day.
'Ali's Trousers' by Azzad Benkerroum and Illustrated my yours truly is available to read on the Story Cloud website today. Check it out and tell me what you think.
There are two little mistakes made on it though. Weird grey shadows and granny's wrist has has some kind of dodgy glitch on it where it's supposed to be hidden in the sleeve, but what the hell.
The Story Cloud website was launched by The Discover Centre on the 18th June in Stratford, London. Just over the way from the Olympic Stadium. Story Cloud was set up as an online web app for children to read new stories every Monday until 3rd September 2012 and take part creating their own tales and adventures.
I was one of 12 illustrators and 12 writers asked to take part and so far it's gone down a storm. In association with the web app, I visited 2 schools in North Wales, St Winefred's Catholic School in Holywell, and Ysgol Maes Glas, to do specific workshops with two classes from each. The workshops used Story Cloud as a starting point. I then showed the children my own work and helped them write and illustrate their own books and stories, which they were then encouraged to submit to the Story Cloud online gallery.
For more info on the Story Cloud project, The Discover Centre or even booking me into your schools and venues, see the blurbs below.
